The French do it better

Your September "Rentrée" starts now:
A 30-day invitation

I’ve always LOVED September.

Not just because of pumpkin spice lattes (it's back!), but because of the energy.

September carries a different kind of electricity. The light shifts. The air changes.

The world starts moving again.

In France, we call it la Rentrée: the return.

And I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's a NATIONAL EVENT!

It marks the end of the long (and slooow) summer holidays and the beginning of a new academic year.

But it is so so much more than back-to-school. It's a collective restart for the whole country.

Boutiques fill with new books and fresh fashion. We pick up our "agenda" notebooks, a new coat, new projects.

Life returns with a sense of renewal.

To me, it’s always felt a bit like the new year.

After the long, hot summer, la Rentrée is like an awakening and a season of possibility.

It’s the moment to stop summer drifting and start directing.

And we all seem to get a bit of a burst of energy.

🧠 The lie we keep telling ourselves

Every year, people repeat the same story: “The 1st of January is when EVERYTHING changes.”

They’ll finally start that morning routine. They’ll prioritise their health. They’ll set boundaries. They’ll become the person they’ve been promising themselves they’d be.

But January arrives in the depths of winter. Your energy is lowest, your motivation is forced, while life is already spinning at full speed.

You’re trying to plant seeds in frozen ground, and surrounded by everyone else doing the same thing.

No wonder most New Year’s resolutions fail by February.

🍂 But September is different

Researchers call it the "fresh start effect".

People are more likely to chase goals after key landmarks, like new seasons, birthdays, or Mondays.

September brings a mix of changes: the season shifts, schedules adjust, and cultural energy comes alive.

With autumn approaching, mornings and evenings are cooler, and your circadian rhythms naturally shift with daylight changes.

Research shows that seasonal light changes naturally affect our mood, focus, and internal body clock.

La Rentrée is a chance to reset without the pressure cooker of January.

Autumn feels like possibilities instead of endings.

⚡️ The permission you’ve been waiting for

You don’t need another New Year's day to start designing the life you want.

You don’t need another birthday, another Monday, another “right time” that may never come.

You need "La Rentrée" energy!

We've been programmed to think change only happens on certain calendar days. In reality, the most powerful transformations happen when we stop waiting for permission and, instead, start creating our own moments of renewal.

So what if you stopped waiting?

What if, instead of spending September getting ready to maybe possibly start something in January, you used September’s natural momentum to actually begin?

What if you realised the perfect time isn’t coming. It’s here, disguised as a regular Thursday, waiting for you to claim it?

This is the shift that changes everything: from waiting for the right moment to creating the right moment.

From hoping for motivation to designing systems that make motivation irrelevant.

From starting over to building on.

🍂 Introducing Your September Rentrée: Design Your Wellbeing

What if, by October 1st, you could begin to break the 3 toxic loops keeping you stuck, stop people-pleasing your way to burnout, and start building habits that stick, without motivation?

What if you could reclaim your attention from the digital void, reshape your relationship with movement and food, and step into October with clarity about who you’re becoming?

That’s exactly what this month is designed to help you do.

For the month of September, on weekdays, you're going to experience what happens when you align your wellbeing goals with September's natural Rentree energy of renewal (instead of waiting for January's forced motivation).

This isn't another challenge promising to "fix" you in 30 days. It's a systematic approach to designing a life that actually works for you.

Every weekday from Monday 1st September, I'll be sharing one bold, bite-sized piece at Unwritten Potential on Substack.

(I won't send emails just to not spam your inbox but you can follow and receive each post in your inbox, via Substack)

Part insight, part science, part coaching. Each one designed to spark reflection, shift your habits, and help you build sustainable wellbeing that fits your actual real life.

Think of it as your personal Rentrée, that same sense of fresh notebooks and new possibilities, but applied to your entire wellbeing.

While everyone else drifts through September waiting for January, you'll be riding the season's natural momentum towards the person you want to become.

You get to end the year with clarity and momentum.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Week 1: Reflect – Stop fixing yourself and start designing your life. Spot the toxic loops holding you back, catch your brain when it lies to you, and sketch a 90-day vision of who you want to become.
  • Week 2: Rewire – Discover why motivation is bullshit and what actually works. Master the 2-minute rule, hijack your existing habits for success, and start building your personal operating system that runs on autopilot.
  • Week 3: Redesign – Begin to reshape your relationship with movement, food, stress, sleep, and technology. Learn why movement is medicine, how to eat like you give a damn about tomorrow, and how to reclaim your attention from the digital void.
  • Week 4: Redesign – Break the people-pleasing cycle, have conversations that actually matter, give yourself permission to play, and create your own 90-day blueprint to finish the year strong.

By October 1st: you won’t be waiting for the “right time.” You’ll have broken free from toxic cycles, built momentum with new habits, and designed the clarity, energy, and 90-day wellbeing blueprint you need to step into the last quarter of the year as the person you actually want to be.

Your Rentrée starts now

The French don’t wait for permission to begin again. Neither should you.

Whether you join the full 30-day journey or simply embrace September’s energy on your own terms, the invitation is the same: stop waiting for January and start designing the life you want right now.

Your September rentrée begins the moment you decide it does.

Ready to start? Every weekday this September you’ll get a bold insight, a practical strategy, and powerful questions. All designed to help you break old cycles, build habits that stick, and design your wellbeing.

Free to follow, via Substack.

With love,
Noemie x

From AI anxiety to AI advantage The first time I asked ChatGPT to draft something for me, I felt two things: complete awe and sheer panic. Awe at how fast it was. Panic because... if a machine can do this in seconds, what does that mean for me?? That was April 2023, and in that moment I realised I had zero future in consulting. Well, at least not the version I was doing at the time. Since then, the world has gone absolutely mad with AI panic. Every headline, podcast, and dinner party...

Why Joy deserves a spot on your to-do list Last week I laughed so hard I snorted oat milk latte out of my nose. It wasn't glamorous. But it was absolutely glorious! I was having brunch with a girlfriend, and we laughed so hard that the people at the next table were both amused and a little concerned. I've had a really tough few weeks at work, so it felt like someone had hit the reset button on my whole nervous system. And it made me realise something: I hadn't had that kind of laugh in weeks!...

Reclaim your brain. It’s being robbed. Last year, I got a screen time notification on a Sunday that made me GASP. Let’s just say it was not a proud moment. I was calling myself an entrepreneur, trying to build a coaching business from scratch… and I’d somehow spent 18 hours that week on Instagram. WTF? 😱 Add another 5 on The Guardian and a sprinkle of YouTube rabbit holes, et voilà: all my time, gone. And my brain? Absolute mush. The breakdown by app was even worse. I was reading The Guardian...
